Releasing Stored Emotions with Essential Oils

Over the weekend I was chatting with a friend about stored emotions in the body and how supporting our body systems really does lead to healthier emotions . I wanted to share this graphic so you had a good visual on where we store various emotions in the body.  If you think about it, some of these might make sense from what you already know about parts of the body.  For example, most of us have heard of the saying ”the angry drunk.”  And people who consume a large about of alcohol tend to have unhealthy livers… When the liver is toxic the emotions of anger and rage come out more.

One of my favorite tools we have for emotions is a collection of Essential Oils called the Feelings Kit.

Now I am embarrassed to say this, but I went YEARS without using these oils. I used so many other oils - you know the oils that were good for your immune system and for staying healthy… I never associated health with healthy emotions. I was doing very little work with my emotions until I started to learn about the connection between our emotions and physical health and how it is all related.

Did you know that there is one sense that affects 75% if our emotions every single day?

It is the sense of smell.

We know that our sense of smell is directly related to our emotions and mood. This is why a scent can trigger a memory or even a feeling. Vanilla reminds you of baking cookies with your best friend. Lavender reminds you of your grandmother.

This is why aromatherapy is so effective when it comes to processing emotions and dealing with needs such as anxious thoughts, stress and even low mood. So inhaling your essential oils can be so powerful! Setting up your diffuser daily is such a simple way to impact your home.
